How to Protect Yourself from COVID19 Scams

According to Action Fraud, ‘Criminals are exploiting the COVID-19 pandemic to try and get their hands on your money and personal information. To date, Action Fraud has received reports from 2,378 victims of Coronavirus-related scams, with the total losses reaching over £7 million.’

Parish Council Meeting Dates 2020-21

Please find attached a list of Parish Council meeting dates for the forthcoming council year.  Meetings will continue to be held ‘virtually’, via the Zoom video conferencing platform, until it is deemed safe to resume holding face to face meetings and the Council chooses to do so.

Local Food & Drink Businesses Offering Deliveries in Response to the Covid19 Crisis

Eastbourne Borough and Lewes District Councils have launched a new website to showcase hundreds of local food and drink businesses that are offering deliveries in response to the Covid-19 crisis. With demand rocketing as people stay at home; some businesses have diversified by transforming their premises into a community shop with a delivery option while others have scaled up their takeaway service. The councils’ website eatlocal.info is a comprehensive directory of these outlets. If you know of a business that is not yet listed, please ask them to email hello@eatlocal.info to have their details added to the site.

Lewes District Citizens' Advice Bureau – Emergency Changes to Services

Lewes District Citizens Advice has announced that face-to-face advice services in all their offices have been suspended for the foreseeable future.

6 April Parish Council Meeting Postponed

The Parish Council meeting due to have been held on Monday 6 April 2020 has been postponed, pending advice (and new legislation) from the Government around how Parish Councils should conduct business during the coronavirus crisis and the enforced period of social distancing.
